The Feminine urge...to self pleasure before the school pick up
Jul 24, 2026
There is something almost comical about it, the clock says 2:15pm, the washing still needs folding, there are emails to answer, dinner hasn’t been thought about and in 45 minutes you’ll be navigating your kids needs and emotions.
You look at the clock again,
it’s 2:20pm and your body says “Come here for a moment.”
And in that moment is your choice,
reply to that email or connect to your body.
Some days, before school pick-up, I’ll choose pleasure instead of another task because I know the woman who arrives at the school gate after she’s spent even ten minutes reconnecting with her body is a different mother.
That glow you see isn’t a face cream…it’s a mother who has creamed herself- I said what I said.
This mother has more patience and more presence because she has prioritised herself.
Self-pleasure has become one of the ways I return home, it’s a conversation with my own body. A reminder that this body isn’t only here to carry, produce, hold everyone else together or tick off another list.
I’m here to feel, to receive and experience aliveness and so are you.
So many women have become strangers to their own touch.
We wait for someone else to awaken us.
We wait until the kids are older.
Until we’re less tired.
Until we have more time.
But our bodies are waiting for us now, to become alive, to reconnect and come back into relationship with ourselves.
Maybe you homeschool.
Maybe you don’t have children.
Maybe your afternoons look completely different.
It doesn’t matter, this isn’t really about school pick-up.
It’s an invitation to prioritise your pleasure in whatever season you’re in, let your body know she matters too.
Imagine if more women met themselves before they met the world each day…
How differently would we mother?
How differently would we partner, create, receive and lead?
